From this task I learnt about pre-planning your magazine pages. This helps get ideas down in a very simplistic way and saves time when your actually constructing it. The final piece may not be exactly the same because I might find a better layout in the construction. The design isn't meant to be set in stone but simply a visual aid during the construction.
